One Day San Francisco: Locals Share Their Top Sights & Eats

If somebody had a 1 day San Francisco, I would recommend that they pick some neighborhoods and walk around.

Golden Gate Bridge

GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE

The one thing I would recommend is to actually see where the Golden Gate Bridge is and just go across it. Just go across it. When I first got here, I was somewhat disappointed that it isn’t right in the middle of the city. There’s another bridge, the Bay Bridge, which is cool because it has two layers, but it’s not the one you see on the postcards. So you have to figure out where it actually is.

1 Day San Francisco

If someone has one day in San Francisco, my suggestion for them is to eat at one of the amazing places we have here.

Golden Gate Park

GOLDEN GATE PARK

Somebody had one day in San Francisco. I would recommend that they go to Golden Gate Park, which can fill up a couple of hours in their day.

The Mission District

The Mission District

If we had one day in the city, I would take you to the Mission. We could experience some sun at Dolores Park. You get a completely different vibe and a taste of the culture of San Francisco over there.

Hayes Valley

Hayes Valley

Next would be Hayes Valley. There’s a really cool bar called Phonobar.

Niku’s Butcher Shop

Niku’s Butcher Shop is great for lunch. They have a Wagyu burger that’s to die for!

DeYoung Museum

DeYoung Museum

You can see some buffalo if you want.
You can go to the de Young Museum to see some art.
You can take the Ferris wheel and get a great view of San Francisco.

Castro and North Beach

Castro and North Beach

Definitely pick the Mission, Castro, and maybe go up to North Beach or towards the Marina. Enjoy ice cream at Garden Creamery. Then, perhaps take the classic route: go through Golden Gate Park, along Ocean Beach, and then across the bridge to Marin.

Valencia-Mission Area

Valencia-Mission Area

Go to the Valencia-Mission area. Then, for other things to do in San Francisco, visit the Mission District, because the Mission has everything you could want: great shops, delicious food, and fantastic bars.

Dolores Park

The nightlife scene is really fun. Pick up a taco or a burrito, head out to Dolores Park, and have a picnic with your friends.

Pizza Hacker

Go visit Pizza Hacker. It’s a good place!
